GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2) or Pralmorelin is a growth hormone (somatotropin) stimulator that has been shown to be highly effective in humans when taken sublingually and transbuccally. GHRP-2 is probably the only and most potent growth hormone booster (stimulator) of somatotropin production in existence today. GHRP-2 is an oligopeptide that can pass through the vessels of the mouth and enter the bloodstream bypassing the liver. Studies have shown that GHRP-2 stimulates the pituitary gland, which increases somatotropin secretion 7-15 times (other growth hormone stimulants based on GABA and amino acids do not increase the level more than 2-3 times from the baseline).
Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide – 2 consists of six amino acids connected in series. This growth hormone releasing peptide belongs to a group of peptides, which interact with G protein-coupled receptors of hypophysis and hypothalamus. It also activates ghrelin receptors, which in turn leads to an increase of appetite. These peptides were first produced at the end of the last century from metenkephalin (an artificial peptide). Although GHRP-2 has no structural similarities to somatotropin-releasing hormone (an endogenous biologically active substance which naturally stimulates the production of growth hormone), in clinical trials this substance has demonstrated similar effects on the pituitary gland.
GHRP-2 growth hormone stimulator has a small molecular weight, so it easily penetrates through the well vascularized mucosa of the oral cavity, thus avoiding the parenteral route of administration. The efficacy and good tolerability of sublingual, intranasal, and transbuccal routes of administration have been confirmed by medical studies.
Clinical trial results published in the Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism in 1997 showed that Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide – 2 increases somatotropin production in both children and adults and even in the elderly.

GHRPeptide-2 is the most potent and yet the safest somatotropin secretion stimulator presently available on the sports nutrition market, and its potency is comparable to that of growth hormone products, as confirmed by a number of independent studies.
Doses and dosing regimen
Studies have determined that the growth hormone stimulator GHRP-2 has a dose-dependent effect, i.e., the increase of somathropin levels directly depends on the dose of this substance, and is independent of gender, age and amount of fat mass. Later, another study was conducted on children where the growth hormone concentration dependence on the GHRP-2 dose was clearly determined (see graphs).
To get an effect in bodybuilding, GHRP-2 is used in a dose of 1-2 mcg per 1 kg of body weight, 2-3 times a day. That is, the average single dose of the drug in bodybuilding ranges from 100-200 mcg. More often 2-3 injections every day (15 minutes before meals, after training and before going to bed), 100-200 µg intramuscularly. There are reports of using the substance in 1000 µg 2-3 times a day, without developing side reactions. Nevertheless, we do not recommend increasing the dose, because the rate of increasing the peptide effect is significantly reduced by doses above 200 µg, together with this may increase the concentration of cortisol and prolactin. Yuri Bombela recommends to include Cabergoline (Dostinex) to decrease prolactin.
It is advisable to combine this peptide with GRF(1-29) or CJC-1295 to achieve the maximum (synergistic) effect, saving money and solving the desensitization problem. Combination courses are described in the respective articles.
Presumably, because of the short half-life of GHRP-2, there is no significant increase in IGF-1 concentration in blood, despite a high but short-lived increase in growth hormone. Therefore, it is recommended to combine this drug with other peptides with longer half-life (CJC-1295).
Preparation and storage of the solution
The vial should be cooled to room temperature, then inject the required volume of water for injection (which should flow down the wall of the vial) and stir with smooth rotating movements (do not shake) or allow to stand in the refrigerator. The solution is quite stable. Moreover, stability in this case does not depend on the type of solvent (bacteriostatic water or water for injection). Shelf life in the refrigerator is about 30-35 days.
Sports nutrition
GHRP-2 based growth hormone stimulants:
- Hexaghen from MuscleMeds
- Hemotropin from Nutrabolics
- Hemogex from VPX
- Xomatropin from ASN
So far, only these brands are on the market, and no manufacturer has specified the dosage of GHRP-2, even though it is the main component of the supplements. This fact may suggest that they use very low dosages, which can have no effect.
There is also Xentropin in which the proportion of the active ingredient is also not known.
Combining
It is recommended to combine supplements with GHRP-2 and other growth hormone stimulants – arginine, GABA and glutamine, this allows for synergistic effects and increases somatotropin levels to a much greater extent. Combining these supplements is safe for health.
Side Effects
Studies have confirmed the high safety level of GHRP-2 and virtually no side effects. GHRP-2 growth hormone stimulant has been in clinical trials for 30 years, so delayed side effects can also be ruled out.
Using a dosage above 600 mcg per day can increase prolactin and cortisol concentrations, two highly undesirable hormones in bodybuilding. Hyperprolactinemia is treated with Cabergoline.
