TB-500 (lab code RGN-352) is a synthetic version of a natural 44 amino acid peptide found in all human and animal cells, thymosin beta 4 (TB4). The use of TB-500 leads to faster healing of wounds and injuries and shows multidirectional protective effects. Recent tests have shown that TB-500 has some effect on athletic performance. Thymosin Beta 4 was first isolated from thymus extract.
In medicine, it is used to accelerate healing of wounds associated with various diseases, as well as for myocardial repair after a heart attack, treatment of ischemic conditions.
Contrary to popular belief, determined by liquid chromatography. Began to be used as a doping for horses participating in races.
Effects
- Accelerates recovery of muscles (including heart muscle), ligaments, joints,[4] and skin. Has pronounced reparative potential for many tissues.
- Anti-inflammatory effects
- Angiogenesis – the growth of new blood vessels in muscles, which improves their nutrition.
- Protects and restores the nervous system.
- Stimulates the secretion of luteinizing hormone, and as a consequence testosterone.
- Increases tissue sensitivity to the anabolic hormone insulin.
- Increases joint mobility and ligament extensibility.
- It is a cardioprotector and reduces the risk of myocardial infarction, restores myocardium. It has regenerative properties even in myocardial ischemia.
TV-500 has no significant effect on muscle growth and strength performance.
The course
Timosin Beta 4 is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Recommended for use only for treatment of injuries, heart strengthening.
- Loading phase: dose of 2-6 mg per week[14][15] divided into two injections (e.g., 2 mg each: Monday, Wednesday). Duration of 1 month.
- Support phase: 2-4 mg per WEEK, divided into 2 injections. Duration 1-2 months.
An alternative scheme: a loading dose of 10 mg the first week (1-2 mg per day), then 5 mg per week (optimally divided into 2 injections) for 5 weeks and a maintenance dose of 10 mg per month (2 mg every 6 days) is optimal and effective according to many US athletes using TV500. That gives you 18 vials of 2 mg for the first 6 weeks + 5 vials of 2 mg per month to maintain results.
Preparation and Storage
Let the vial cool to room temperature, add the required volume of water for injection (which should flow down the side of the vial), then swirl it around (don’t shake it), or leave it in the refrigerator for a while. Also Y. Bombela writes that it is better to use physiological solution, which allows it to be frozen.
In the refrigerator, the solution remains stable for about 8 days, in the frozen state – up to a month.
Side effects
A randomized, placebo-controlled study found no toxic or serious side effects, even at a dose of 1260 mg.
Some have misinterpreted data from the Tang MC, Chan LC study, attributing carcinogenic properties (risk of tumorigenesis) to the drug. According to the conclusions of this and similar studies, Thymosin Beta 4 is a marker and mediator of carcinogenesis, but is not its cause.
